Connecting More Than One Mighty Using a Spotify Family Account

You can manage multiple Mightys using the same app on a single phone, even with the same Spotify Premium account. Spotify allows up to 5 offline devices per account so this is a common use case for families, groups, and teams. Once playlists are synced to your Mightys, they can operate independently, playing music simultaneously without needing the app or phone. Here are some steps to follow

STEP 1) Managing the Playlist and Podcasts

Playlists and Podcast are Managed, Built, and Followed in Spotify

All playlists and podcasts are created, managed and followed within Spotify. None of the playlist management or building happens within the Mighty app. If you create, or follow a playlist or podcast within your Spotify account, they will pull over as options to sync on your Mighty when you connect your Spotify to the Mighty app.

Have Spotify Family and Only Seeing Your Playlists?

If you have a Spotify Family account you will only see the playlists and podcast that you (the family admin) have created and/or follow. If your family members have their own Mighty and you want to make syncing as easy as possible, simply follow the playlists or podcasts they create. By following their playlists and podcasts, they will then pull into your Mighty account to be synced.

Not Seeing a Playlist or Podcast in your Mighty App?

If a playlist or podcast is not showing up within you sync area in the Mighty app, it's likely because you are not following that playlist or podcast. Go back to your Spotify app (or login to Spotify on your browser), find the playlist or podcast in question and make sure you are following it (Find the playlist you want from your child's account. Tap the ••• (more options) menu and select "Add to profile" or "Follow.") All followed content should pull over to the content library on the Mighty app.

STEP 2) Syncing Different Content on Different Mighty Players

  • Connecting your 1st Mighty to your Phone/Tablet using the Mighty App as you would normally (see Getting Started page if you don't remember this process). Keep your other Mighty players powered off while syncing your 1st player. If you see multiple Mightys on the "Connection" stage, press and hold the power button on the Mighty you are not trying to sync.
  • Once your 1st Mighty is connected click the "+" icon in the lower right and select the playlists/podcasts you want to sync.  Remember to sync in small batches (no more than 250 songs) to avoid overloading and freezing.
  • After the content is on your first Mighty player, you can turn it off and repeat the above process with your 2nd Mighty player. You can sync the same content or different content on each player. It's totally up to you.
  • Once the content is on your Mighty, you are good to listen to that content offline for 30 days. Note that Spotify requires all users to confirm account status every 30 days so you will need to reconnect (but not resync) each of your Mighty players every 30 days. Alternatively, you can setup your players to automatically reconnect via our Stay Fresh feature
