Troubleshooting Bluetooth Connections

There are thousands of different earbuds, headphones, and speakers that have Bluetooth connectivity. We are always improving our Bluetooth connectivity in order to allow you to connect with as many Bluetooth devices as possible. If you have followed the Bluetooth connection steps and are experiencing issues while connecting, here are some troubleshooting tips.

Mighty Can’t Find My Bluetooth Device

Pairing Mode
- Make sure your Bluetooth device is in pairing mode. Each Bluetooth accessory should have a pairing mode button or switch. Most Bluetooth devices have an audible chime, voice over, and/or a blinking light to show you they are in pairing mode. If your Bluetooth device is not in pairing mode, your Mighty will not be able to discover the device and pair with it.

Swipe Down - While in pairing mode on your Bluetooth device, you should navigate to the “Connections” section (chain link in lower left) of the Mighty app. When you’re Bluetooth device is discovered by Mighty, it will pop up on the Bluetooth connections screen. If it’s not popping up, you can pull down on the connections screen in the app to force Mighty to look for Bluetooth devices.

Factory Reset Bluetooth Device - Every Bluetooth device should have the ability to do a Factory Reset. Performing this factory reset will get rid of pre existing connections and any oddities that might be preventing it from connecting properly. If you don’t know how to do a factory reset on your Bluetooth device, do an online search for the brand and product name along with “factory reset”, and you should find instructions. Follow our main Bluetooth connection steps after the device has been factory reset.

Mighty Disconnects From Bluetooth

Disconnect Bluetooth Device From Other Players (phone, watch, computer, car) - If your Bluetooth device is going in and out or randomly breaks it’s connection with your Mighty, it is most likely because that Bluetooth device is trying to connect with something else - phone, watch, tablet, computer, car, etc. To prevent this from happening, you can “forget” or “disconnect” the Bluetooth device from everything except your Mighty.

Keep Mighty Close to Bluetooth Device - The range of the Bluetooth connection depends on multiple factors. If you are getting crackly sound while listening or having Bluetooth drops, try moving Mighty closer to the Bluetooth device.

Electronic Signals and Microwaves - Bluetooth signals are impacted by electronic signals and things like microwaves. If you are experiencing crackly sound while listening or having frequent Bluetooth drops, try moving around to see if they happen in certain locations.

Go Wired - We get it, Bluetooth is desirable for multiple reasons but corded headphones, earbuds, and speakers work flawlessly with Mighty. When all else fails, you can always plugin and be good to go. Almost all Bluetooth devices have an audio-in option, and many of them come with a cord because they know that Bluetooth connections can be wonky. If you need a cord for your speaker any “Aux Audio Cable” should work.
